Meet Mark and Annie


Mark and Annie started out like all college love stories. Fun times at parties and sporting events, late night laugh fests and bad food choices that they worked off in the gym the next morning…but over time, something changed. They didn’t laugh as much or enjoy being with each other because everything felt so….HEAVY.

We help couples who have lost their connection to each other and feel there may be no way back to the life they envisioned together. Our clients struggle with communication styles, arguments, jealousy, financial challenges, divisions of labor, extended family relationships, and the potential for separation or divorce.

Using a holistic approach that draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and solution-focused perspectives, we help our clients open a dialogue that promotes honesty and respect, forgives past hurts, and emotionally restores their commitment to each other.

Through our work together, Mark and Annie are planning their positive and loving future together…they’ve found more laughs, more fun, and most importantly more LOVE.

Meet Adam

Adam was the star athlete…teammates wanted to be his friend, girls hoped he would ask them to go to the prom, and coaches thought he was going Division 1. Everyone wanted his attention. Until it all became too much to handle…the stress of performing on the field, jealous friendships, and achieving academically…he had no more energy to give. What about what HE really wanted?

We help teens who are disengaged from friendships, sports, other extracurricular interests, and school, who are experiencing poor academic performance, and who have self-isolated from their friends and family as they struggle with anxiety, depression, peer pressure, substance abuse, and bullying. Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), our therapists validate their feelings and encourage them to work towards goals by identifying personal strengths, minimizing negative thinking habits, and utilizing positive coping skills to re-frame the teen’s perspective on difficult situations, establish healthy boundaries, and put themselves first.

Through our work together, Adam re-engaged in a lifestyle focused on healthy relationships, good eating habits, improved grades, and physical activities that promote resilience and healthy boundaries. Now he calls the shots and enjoys all that life has to offer on and off the field.

Meet Sarah

Sarah was always up for a good time, she was the life of the party, the go to friend, the ride or die. Most times she was able to stay in control and keep her drinking to a minimum, at least that’s what she told herself … day in and day out. But over time, the feelings of loneliness and anxiety she was desperately trying to numb through alcohol, and occasionally with pills on the really hard days, were becoming more and more difficult to manage. She wasn’t just lying to her family and friends….she was lying to herself. Sarah knew she didn’t want to feel this way but didn’t know how to stop using… so the cycle continued for much longer than she ever thought it would.

Our therapists are compassionately committed to working with patients suffering from a broad spectrum of co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. Mindfulness, prioritization techniques, and solution focused perspectives are wonderful tools our counselors will share to help you refocus on things within your control and successfully achieve daily tasks without feeling overwhelmed.

Through our work together, Sarah was able to address the trauma that caused her to rely on alcohol and drugs to get through her day. She no longer feels the burden of past hurts, has found that forgiveness offers refuge, and her inner voice is now a compassionate and encouraging compass in her approach to daily life.
