We all have a story we tell ourselves. Your life story is the narrative you tell yourself and others about what happened in your life, what that means, and who you are as a result. Is your story one of bravery and perseverance, leading you to your current state of success and fulfillment? Is your story one of being the victim of an unfortunate life in which you had bad luck, got the short end of the stick, or were mistreated by others? Or, is your story one of boredom and lack of fulfillment, letting fear of other people’s judgments keep you from living the life of your dreams? Our life stories are like movies, you are typically the main character and friends or loved ones are the supporting cast. If you could do anything in life without the fear of consequences or failure, what would it be? A new job, a new city, a new partner? Fear occurs when we are not living in the present moment. Fear is a reaction we have when looking to the future and creating events in our mind that have not yet happened, and probably never will. In order to live your best and most fulfilling life, let go of your fears by living in the moment. Yes, it’s easier said than done, but you can do it. Fabricating events to keep yourself in your comfort zone does nothing to help you move forward. It keeps you exactly where you are, which can be stale, demoralizing, or just blah.
